Dr. Cholenahalli Nanjappa Manjunath is a former Senior Cardiologist and Director of Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research, Bengaluru. He is one of India’s most reputed heart specialists. His expertise in coronary and non-coronary intervention makes a difference in many patients’ lives. He joined the Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences & Research in 1988. Beyond his professional career, he has taken many initiatives to serve society. He believes that, regardless of financial condition, every patient should receive quality care.

Dr. Manjunath developed a new way to perform Balloon Mitral Valvuloplasty (BMV), a procedure that uses a balloon catheter inserted through a vein to open a narrowed mitral valve without opening the heart. This method, known worldwide as “Manjunath’s Technique,” to handle complicated cases where crossing the mitral valve is technically difficult.
